An Unexpected Kind
Kind Series Book 1
by Angela K Parker
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Bradley
I used to think that love was for the weak.
It was not something that would ever tie me down.
Until I learned the truth behind my resistance.
When I let down my guard, I wasn’t expecting to find love.
Samantha’s voice called for my attention before I ever met her.
Now my heart is in need. My heart wants her.
And I will do whatever it takes to make it happen.
Samantha
All I ever wanted was to be loved.
Until love crushed my heart into a million pieces.
I built a wall tough enough that no one could ever get that close again.
But Bradley isn’t just anyone. I’m not prepared for all that he is.
He’s searching for something that I don’t think I can give.
The more I try to deny him the harder it becomes.
He’s going to tear my wall down. And I’m torn because…
I wasn’t looking for love.
Love found me.

A Callous Kind
Kind Series Book 2
“Everyone that enters your life is there for a purpose, and if you’re lucky, you find the one that changes everything. The way you laugh. The way you think. The way you love.”
–Angela K Parker
Bradley
Sam is my one. When I met her, I knew that she would change everything. Our love was all-consuming. I thought it was unbreakable. We were happy, content, and making plans for our future.
I should’ve known better than to make plans. They always fall apart when I least expect it. Things happen beyond my control. Mistakes are made that are hard to accept, and the love that I feel falls prey to mistrust.
Samantha
Brad is my yellow. I’ve been comforted in the blanket of our love from the moment I let him in.
It was stupid of me to think that nothing would change. I thought that if I ignored the problem, it would go away, but it didn’t. It stalked me, lurking in the distance for a chance to strike. Now everything that Brad and I have built is crumbling, and I don’t know if there is anything that I can do to stop it.

A Forgiving Kind
Kind Series Book 3
Bradley
Learning to live with betrayal can prove to be a difficult task. Being able to trust again, can be even harder.
Sam and I have both made mistakes. We’ve both been hurt by the ones we love, but we’ve never hurt each other until now. I know that nothing could ever change my feelings for her. I know that she is meant for me. What I don’t know is how to move past the deception, but I’m doing everything within my power to try.
Samantha
My blind participation in a daring act could possibly cost me everything.
I’ve been over it countless times. I’ve asked myself, why did I let it happen? How could I be so naive? I’ve hurt Brad in the worst way and I don’t know how to fix it. A visit from an old friend does nothing to help matters. It only makes my uncertainty that much stronger, but I refuse to give up on us. I won’t let this be the end.

A Glimmer of Ghosts The Hell Gate Series Book 1 by Hunter J. Skye Genre: Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance

One night of filming in the wrong cemetery changes everything for a celebrity ghost-hunter with a half dead brain. When Melisande Blythe discovers that a secret society of wraiths wants her killed or worse, Mel will have to do the one thing she promised she would never do… trust a ghost.
But does the corporeal spirit of her dreams really want her heart or does he want her newfound ability to enslave souls? With Hell on the horizon, Mel is running out of time. She has to stop the fiery invasion or face the darkness warring in her soul.
Hunter J. Skye is a high-functioning square peg, which turns out to be a prerequisite for writing quirky urban fantasy and paranormal romance.
Her debut novel, A Glimmer of Ghosts, has won four Romance Writers of America awards.
When not typing away on her next novel, Hunter can be found cracking nerdy jokes or waxing existential over a bowl of spaghetti.
She firmly believes this world is ready for a narcoleptic heroine.
One thing about the story:
Many of the spirits appearing in A Glimmer of Ghosts are based on actual ghost stories from the Olde Towne district of Portsmouth, Virginia. Once a year, these stories are told on the city’s annual Halloween Ghost Walk. These apparitions are well known to the residents of Olde Towne, Portsmouth and the city considers them ambassadors of a sort. One such ghost, Colonel William Crawford, founded the town three hundred years ago and is the inspiration for Grayford- Melisande’s haunting lover.
One thing about me:
In 2016 Hunter Skye was diagnosed with a rare REM sleep disorder that mimics the presence of other-worldly entities. In her search for a coping mechanism, Hunter adopted a new life plan- “when life gives you ghosts, write a ghost story.” Now that those specters are on the payroll, everyone is much happier.
Hunter has a Bachelor of the Fine Arts and has won four Romance Writers of America awards pre-publication for her debut novel, A Glimmer of Ghosts. Worldwide release is 2/19/20.

Forsaken by Luna Black Genre: Fantasy, Paranormal Romance

Mason and Lilly came from two different worlds, and their union resulted in their deaths… but not before they brought their baby girl into the world. Now, their daughter, Jocelynn, must learn to survive in a world that sees her as an abomination. Will she ever find her place in the world, or is she destined to remain an outcast?
“I started writing when I was in elementary school. I struggled for the most part due to my dyslexia, and people often told me that I would never be a good writer. They told me to give up, but I refused. I gave it everything I had. At one point, I won a young author’s award, and I continued writing as I got older. I recently had three short stories published and a fourth accepted for an anthology scheduled for release on March 1st. My biggest goal with my writing is that others might resonate with my characters and that my stories might empower them in some way and give them the courage to keep going, even when life gets them down. While not all stories have happy endings or see the characters take a positive path, they do typically follow the theme of acceptance — acceptance of who you are as a person and who you want to be — and the moment where one decides to stand up for themselves.”

Drawn and Driven: My Haiti Adventure by Rod Ellis Genre: Non Fiction Adventure

He was 61 years old. He had a secure position as a tenured associate
professor at a major university. He had a bustling mental health
practice. His home was loaded with equity. He drove and rode his
dream vehicles, a Jeep Wrangler and a Victory Cross Country
motorcycle. His son was set for college. Life was good. He could work
for a few more years, then retire comfortably in his secluded country
home.
One day everything changed. Sitting in a crowded bus jammed between
stalled vehicles in a classic Port-au-Prince traffic jam, Rod Ellis
decided to chuck it all. Surrounded by the blare of horns and the
cries of street vendors, he resolved to close his practice, resign
his university position, and move to Haiti.
What possessed him to do such a thing? How could he leave behind
everything familiar for a world he knew only a little? Haiti is the
poorest nation in the western hemisphere. There would be no air
conditioning or running water. He would drive a 20-year-old vehicle.
He would reside in an unfinished house, at the mercy of tropical
winds and weather. Light-skinned, he would live in a world of almost
exclusively dark-skinned people. Whatever was he thinking? Drawn and
Driven: My Haiti Adventure tells the tale. In it, Ellis describes his
physical, emotional, and spiritual journey into a country he had
visited only a handful of times. He talks about preparing for the
move, the people he interacted with after arrival, and the challenges
he has faced trying to help the wonderful people of this struggling
country. From cultural conflicts to renegade priests to building his
own off-the-grid house to the development of a vocational school,
Ellis weaves the tale of his great, ongoing adventure: Drawn and
Driven.
Rod Ellis retired from The University of Tennessee College of Social Work
at the end of December 2016. He had served there for 17 years, as
Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Acting Associate Dean, and
Coordinator of International Programs. During his time at UT, Rod
published 6 books as writer, co-writer, or editor, as well as several
articles in professional and academic journals. These were published
under his full name and credentials, Rodney A. Ellis, PhD, MSW, MA.
For about two years prior to his retirement Rod had been making regular
visits to Haiti with the American Haitian Foundation. Upon
retirement, he moved to Petite Riviere de Nippes, Haiti where he has
helped start churches, repair roads, start small businesses, and
provide funding for students. He is currently director of a school
that teaches conversational English and several vocational programs.
He has also maintained a blog on his Facebook page since before his
arrival in Haiti.
Rod is a member of Crossroads Community Church in Baxter, TN, where the
folks prayed over him before his departure and continue to pray for
him as he works in Haiti. Even today, Crossroads Community Church is
still “holding the ropes.”

Looking for a FAB CHILDREN’S BOOK?

Customer Review

Maria Catalina Egan

Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2020

Clever Rhyming, Story Line and Magnificent Illustrations. Little Mouse’s Sweet Treat has that and much more.
A good Children’s book should enhance vocabulary, excite the imagination and create platforms for discussions.
I find that in this beautifully illustrated book. The variety of treats and characters the little mouse encounters open the door for interesting discussions with small children.
Should the mouse have approached all the animals? Should he be such a picky eater? Would a cat and mouse get along? I could add a list a mile long.
It is also a good book for early readers to find nice tone and rhyme when reading.
The Illustrations are sophisticated and simple all at once, which encourages children to explore their own artistic development.
A wonderful little book with ALL the right ingredients.

Putin’s Useful Idiot by Kenyon Kane Genre: Historical Espionage, Romance

November 1984, Richard Hart lands at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport carrying
a dossier he doesn’t have security clearance to open, a map of
Moscow missing most of the street names, five ten-dollar bills
(probably dyed with invisible ink) and an American Express card.
Acting as a CIA “financial” agent, Hart must close a deal with
the KGB, rig the transaction to produce enough “black money” to
bribe KGB hard-liners to retire, and get out alive. And he only has
Colonel Putin there to help him.
PUTIN’S USEFUL IDIOT is about Richard Hart, a self-centered materialist
living in New York City married to a woman half his age, dining out
every night at fancy restaurants and spending his weekends shopping
with his wife at expensive stores like Bergdorf-Goodman, Henri
Bendel, and Gucci. Forced to take an assignment to Moscow, he winds
up in an environment where money is worthless because there is
nothing to buy, food is scarce and for the most part terrible and
even drinking water is impossible to find at times. As he adjusts to
his new environment, he comes to find that his materialistic
viewpoint is selfish, and in fact unnecessary to his happiness, and
as he finds joy in the new friends and relationships he makes, he
transforms toward the collective.
But is it all a set-up by his partner in crime V. Putin? Is he just
another Useful Idiot? As a counterpoint, while Hart is evolving in
his social views toward the collective, his Soviet counterparts
evolve toward capitalism because the free markets are coming to the
Soviet Union and everyone is going to need western currency to
survive. Inspired by true events, PUTIN’S USEFUL IDIOT is a
ride-along first person, present tense adventure jampacked with
danger, passion and humor
Kenyon Kane grew up in the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles before
there were freeways. He worked for two US Cabinet Secretaries. His
job was to complete financial transactions in the Soviet Union,
Grenada and Northern Ireland.
