Who’s ready for Christmas?
OK, I admit, I’m always ready for Christmas. Not to the extent that I want to leave the tree up all year round. To me, that would diminish the magic of the season. However, once I start decorating, there is not a room in my house that go undecorated.
We start with setting up our Christmas village. Or Holiday village as we call it since we set it up early and keep it up until mid-to-late January.
When we moved into our current house we didn’t have much display space so I asked my husband, dubbed The Craftsman since he is such a perfectionist in everything he does, if he could set up some sawhorses with a board over it that I would then cover with a white sheet. I came home from the day job to discover he’d built tables, with a couple of levels, painted white with strands of white lights, covered in plexiglass. I think it is now approximately 20 feet in length and wraps around a corner into the foyer.
