When the People’s Republic of China unleashes a devastating attack on the United States, newly appointed Naval Commander Bill Watkins and his crew are suddenly alone, deep in the enemy’s backyard, and unable to communicate with naval or national leadership.

At home in Washington, the president is detached from reality. Survivors of his cabinet contend with military leadership for control, some to save the nation they serve, others in pursuit of personal power. As America becomes alienated from her allies, Russia begins a campaign that creates heightened fears of nuclear annihilation.

Bill must navigate a political minefield to find friends among China’s neighbors, while undertaking a role that demands he take unimaginable risks and wrestles with the question: What losses are acceptable in order to win?

A Naval Academy and Naval War College graduate, Thomas M. Wing retired after thirty-two years as a Navy Surface Warfare officer. He served in guided missile destroyers and frigates, as well as with destroyer squadron, cruiser destroyer group, numbered fleet, and Joint Task Force staffs, where he planned and executed real-world joint operations at the operational and strategic levels of war. He also participated in naval combat during Operation Praying Mantis in the Middle East in April, 1988. He has taught Coast Guard licensing courses and has held a variety of sailing licenses, including Master and Master of Sailing Vessels, Upon Oceans. His novel, Against All Enemies, resulted from a random thought during a period of political tension between China and the U.S. What if that political tension included cruise missiles flying in from the sea to strike the San Diego waterfront?  Thomas M. Wing resides in San Diego with his wife and daughter, two cats, and a dog. He still spends whatever free time he has on the water.

Twice Upon a Midnight

A Regency Cinderella Story

by Anna Harrington

Genre: Regency Romance

WHEN ONCE UPON A TIME…BECOMES TWICE UPON A MIDNIGHT

When Lady Elenora Darby returns to London, what better way for her parents to introduce her—and attract suitors—than to throw a masked ball? But Ella prefers poets to peers, and in the dark gardens, she encounters a man she knows nothing about…except that he loves poetry. Before she can learn his name, midnight strikes, and he vanishes, leaving behind only one clue to his identity—a glove embroidered with his initials.

As the Duke of Pensworth’s unwanted stepson, Spenser Rhodes has nothing to do with society…until he meets Ella. He knows they have no future. After all, the daughter of a duke deserves a peer, not a printer. Yet Ella is determined to find her masked man. As her search brings them closer, more than society is keeping them apart—so is Spenser’s half brother Simon, who wants Ella for himself.

With a masked ball, evil stepfather, jealous half brother, and unlikely fairy godmother, TWICE UPON A MIDNIGHT is a Cinderella story that readers of Regency romance will love!

These are the challenges, these are the conquests, these are the dreams, these are the successes, and with life, these are the sometimes tragic failures.

The story-telling, the fable, the book. For the Love of Dog Tales 2.

About the Author

Storyteller and dreamer Irvin L. Cannon put pen to paper for the first time in response to a challenge. A simple challenge issued in response to his comment… “I can write a better story than that.” The challenge uttered, “Do it then”! He began scribbling story after story into notebooks. For the Love of Dog Tales is the first release from those tucked away pages birthed from that short exchange.

His vision and imagination for the art of storytelling was primarily nurtured by his love for comic books. A scientist by training, dog lover by nature, and a man with many years in law enforcement, Irvin’s experience in the inner city street wars, combine to produce a biting view of the world around us as seen through the eyes of his canine characters—characters with whom he has crossed paths.

I learned to read when I was four or five, listening to my mother read to me when I was lonely after my brother started school. Ever since, I’ve had my head buried in books. I love words – historical plaques, signs, the cereal box – but my first love has always been novels.

A little over ten years ago my husband dared me to write a book instead of always reading them. I didn’t think I’d be able to do it, but to my surprise I love writing. Those early efforts eventually became my first published book – Tempting the Earl (published by Avalon Books in 2010). It has been a thrilling adventure as I learned to navigate the world of publishing.

I believe firmly that everyone deserves a happily ever after. I want my readers to be able to escape from the everyday for a little while and feel upbeat and refreshed when they get to the end of my books.

When not reading or writing, I can be found traipsing around my neighborhood or travelling the world with my favorite companion.

The Feather’s Push

by Noel Zamot

Genre: Speculative Thriller

In a world disrupted by a social media app with unimaginable reach, a woman who can change emotions through touch must join forces with the man who once sought to kill her, racing to uncover the secret of their shared affliction.

The Feather’s Push

Relented Part 2

by Noel Zamot

Genre: Speculative Thriller

Amber Drake can sense emotions through touch. Today she learned she can change them.

In the wake of a near-fatal accident, Air Force Lieutenant Amber Drake awakens to a chilling reality: she can sense the emotions that others hide. The ability draws government interest, plunging her into a secretive, shadow world. Then a sudden tragedy rips through Amber’s life, threatening her mission: shadow a young college professor named Kelly Austin, and her partner Simon Lyons. Simon’s ability to glimpse seconds into the future makes him useful, enigmatic – and dangerous.

As Amber’s condition evolves, she finds it easier to manipulate others – and spiral into darkness. When her cover is blown, Amber uncovers a disturbing truth-those she trusted harbor the darkest secrets.

In a world of rogue operatives, mind-controlled fanatics, and a social media platform with mind-altering reach, Amber discovers the connections to those she loves are the most powerful weapon. Trust, however, proves elusive – especially when she must rely on Simon Lyons, the man intertwined with her past – and capable of her demise.

“The Feather’s Push,” the gripping sequel to the best-selling “The Archer’s Thread,” blends the ingenuity of Blake Crouch with the genre-defying narratives of VE Schwab. The story propels readers into a too-familiar reality, where the lines between mind and machine blur, trust is illusory, and every touch can reveal or destroy. Will Amber survive this nightmare, or will she lose everything in its endless depths?

Rebecca Rowland is a dangerous lady. She is cynical, lascivious, ironic, blood-thirsty, ice-cold, but also warmly feminist (unless the gals aren’t worth it), a guy-lover (until the boys get a little too much toxic masculinity), and at any moment, she’s ready to throw old snow beasts, walls of giant bugs, and…well, what’s your nightmare? As lawman, rancher, and Korean War veteran, Ty Dawson has his share of problems in the southern Oregon county he calls home. Despite how rural it is, Meriwether can’t keep modernity at bay. The 1970s have changed the United States—and Meriwether won’t be spared.

A standoff looms when the US Fish & Wildlife Service seeks to separate longtime cattleman KC Sheridan from his water supply—ensuring the death of his livestock. If that’s not enough trouble, a Portland detective is found dead in a fly-fishing resort cabin. Though the Portland police, including the victim’s own partner, are eager to write off the tragedy as a suicide, Ty has his own thoughts on the matter—as well as evidence that points to murder. Fistful of Rain

The Ty Dawson Mysteries Book 2

The second Sheriff Dawson mystery has “lots of twists and turns that stretch back over years, then a mind-blowing ending that puts everything into place” (Killer Nashville).

Winner—2019 Best Book of the Year, Killer Nashville

Ty Dawson, now the sheriff of Oregon’s Meriwether County, is ready to put a trying year behind him, but he’s afforded no such luck. In a country still coming to grips with the Vietnam War, Watergate, and Charles Manson, Ty’s neck of the woods isn’t safe from the turmoil—especially when a commune of young so-called hippies springs up out of nowhere . . .

A longtime local sheep rancher accuses the Rainbow Ranch residents of livestock theft, putting Ty in the middle of a culture clash. Though Ty finds no evidence of a crime, the rancher brings in his own stock detective. Behind fences topped with razor wire, the commune and its enigmatic guru hold secrets of their own—many of which have nothing to do with peace, love, and understanding. Tensions flare, setting off a bloody wave of violence that will forever scar the place Ty calls home, unless he can stop it.

About the Author

Travis Bush is a novelist, academic writer, and committed adventurer, at least in his mind. Born in the small town of Dade City, Florida, and then raised in the slightly bigger town of Zephyrhills, he quickly looked to leaving whenever he could. Hindered in his first attempt—being only eleven then and lacking a driver’s license—Travis was forced to stick around for longer than he wanted. Once grown and graduated from Saint Leo University, which equipped him with degrees in Political Science and History, he was ready to take on the world. While his education may have given him a deep love of philosophy and humanity, it didn’t yield many career opportunities nor the chance to leave town like he’d always dreamed. Luckily, Uncle Sam had just the thing for him: Travis joined the Army and finally went on his grand adventure. However, it was slightly less grand and looked much more like rural Alabama, Louisiana, Virginia, and Arizona. The adventure was also less on the adventurous side and more confined to isolating cubicles and windowless rooms. Undeterred, Travis took to daydreaming and writing. His debut novel and those that follow, overflow with the adventures, nightmares, or caffeine-fueled hallucinations he wished he’d had or wishes he hadn’t.

He describes himself as a ‘Hobby Author’ fitting this into his already time-poor days. To date he has written two novels in his series about Mort and Pig in what is planned to be a series of five.

He lives in the Gold Coast hinterland in Queensland. He and his wife, both inveterate travellers, look forward to exploring somewhere new, with A J able to indulge his other hobby of landscape photography. He has three adult children and three grandchildren.
