Homicide: Party of Twelve
by Michael Bronte
Genre: Suspense, Thriller
Homicide: Party of Twelve takes us to Jersey City where the boss of Chez Alain restaurant has just been gunned down in a drive by shooting. Frankie Fortunato, a hardworking server, moves up to become the new manager. New Jersey State Police Detective, Matt Klimecki, catches the case and leans heavily on the restaurant’s employees to help solve it, including Frankie and his girlfriend, Gabby D’Angelo, who also works at Chez Alain. The plot twists and turns as Frankie struggles to please the owners and reopen the restaurant, while also dealing with the opposing forces of gun-running criminals and the authorities who are trying to catch them.
Michael Bronte is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, New York, and George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and lives with his wife in New Jersey. “All of the heroes in my novels are everyday people,” says Bronte. “Any of them could by your next door neighbor. None of us really know what we’re capable of until the time comes for us to reach beyond the boundaries of our everyday lives. Remarkable feats of courage are performed all around us. It’s amazing.”
As a young teenager I remember reading paperback mysteries under a huge oak tree outside my parents’ neighborhood grocery store in Dalton, Massachusetts, a small town located in the heart of the Berkshires. I can recall pulling a book from the rack and getting locked in to those novels as the fragrant summer breeze of Berkshire County tried to turn the page before I was done reading it. I don’t know why, but I was greatly affected by a book titled The Fan Club, by Irving Wallace. When I was done reading it, I can still recall thinking that someday I’d be able to write a book like that on my own; I knew I could do it.
Well, the idea stayed dormant for over thirty years while I did what I thought I should have been doing for a living (looking back, it all seems so trivial sometimes) until I rekindled by infatuation with writing novels. Now, may years later, and many mistakes and failures later, there are nine Michael Bronte novels available. They are: The Dealership, Presidential Risk, Porchball, Call Me Crash, The Tenth Caller, Lost Friday, The Brothers, The Handyman, and the newest Michael Bronte novel, Homicide: Party of Twelve

Cecilia House by Simon Gandossi Genre: Historical NonFiction

Cecilia House
by Simon Gandossi
Genre: Historical NonFiction
What kind of mystery hides within the walls of ‘Cecilia House’?
Simon Gandossi’s latest novel tells story of a young girl who, despite her innocence, finds herself experiencing unimaginable pain
Growing to be one of the best up-and-coming historical fiction writers, Simon Gandossi pens “Cecilia House” (published by Xlibris AU), a novel based on the abuse by the Catholic Church in the 1930s.
Life is a precious gift and it can change within the blink of an eye. This is something Patricia discovered at a young age. After an extremely tragic event, her loving family, good friends along with many dreams and aspirations were all gone. As an unwanted child, she is sent to what was supposed to be a place of lovingness and warmth. But coming to Cecilia House sets in motion Patricia’s life downward spiral. She soon discovers that those responsible for her care added so much more pain and sadness to many lives instead. What occurred within the walls of Cecilia House was one of the most despicable and atrocious acts to ever happen within an organization whose duty is to protect innocent children.
Gandossi, through Patricia’s story, allows readers to experience the same feelings and emotions as the main character (and of the innocent children who suffered abuse from the hands of those supposed to provide them welfare and care).
Born and raised in Western Australia, author Simon Gandossi grew up on a small quiet farm. At an early age, he began to visit museums. As he looked at the various antiques, he created stories about each of them in his mind which would later come to life when his father bought him his first computer. This passion for history grew over the years making him one of the best up-and-coming historical fiction writers. His first two books, “Elsa” and “For Beau: The Sarah Ashdown Story,” have gained outstanding reviews from several major bookstores and critics. His unique perspective carries on to his newest novel, “Cecilia House.”

Repriseby Claire DavonGenre: Contemporary Romance

Reprise
by Claire Davon
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Cool, competent Terri August is nothing like her love-crazed self of ten years earlier, obsessed with rock star Clarke Masters, who called her his stalker. But when he appears as her label’s new A&R rep, she’s shocked to find he doesn’t know her. Her logical side tells her to stay away from him, but every time she looks into those familiar emerald eyes, awareness sizzles along her nerve endings.
Clarke’s substance abuse in previous years has left holes in his memory and his life in chaos. He’s looking for redemption, not romance, but his searing attraction to Terri shatters everything he knew about desire and makes him feel alive. Uncovering her secrets and facing his demons may be his only way to a new life.
Claire can’t remember a time when writing wasn’t part of her life. Growing up, she used to write stories with her friends. As a teenager she started out reading fantasy and science fiction, but her diet quickly changed to romance and happily-ever-after’s. A native of Massachusetts and cold weather, she left all that behind to move to the sun and fun of California, but has always lived no more than twenty miles from the ocean.
In college she studied acting with a minor in creative writing. In hindsight she should have flipped course studies. Before she was published, she sold books on eBay and discovered some of her favorite authors by sampling the goods, which was the perfect solution. Claire has many book-irons in the fire, most notably her urban fantasy series, The Elementals’ Challenge series, but writes contemporary and shifter romances as well as.
While she’s not a movie mogul or actor, she does work in the film industry with her office firmly situated in the 90210 district of Hollywood. Prone to break out into song, she is quick on feet and just as quick with snappy dialogue. In addition to writing she does animal rescue, reads, and goes to movies. She loves to hear from fans, so feel free to drop her a line.

The 12th House as a Vocational Indicator

Donna Cunningham's avatarSky Writer

©6-12-15 by Donna Cunningham, MSW

I’m going to go out on a limb here. It won’t be the first time, and it won’t be the last. I’m something of a regular there.

If we were studying astrology in the 14th century or up to a thousand years before that, the 12th would be listed as one of the career houses. Planets placed there can show a vocation in the original sense of the word—a calling. It’s not something you chose, but instead something that chooses you and that you wind up devoting your life to.

“This book is so incredibly moving, and quite honestly, there are parts that are just laugh out loud, righteously hilarious. Evie Reid is kind, and good, and loving, and Ethan has to be the sexiest man alive. Not only is this a beautiful story of love and family, but holy smokes, Ethan and Evie are so sexy.” – Chelsey S.
“Can I please just move in next door to these people? In this second book, Anders builds on the relationships of all the characters from her first novel, and introduces us to some incredible new additions to the story. Her ability to weave them in, and make you fall in love with them, is extraordinary. Find a couple of hours to yourself, because you wont be able to put it down.” Lisa L.
