I was just getting used to my life back
in Kansas, when I suddenly return to Oz, without Toto or the magic shoes
that put me here. Time operates differently in both worlds, and though
only four months has passed for me, more than two years have progressed
in Oz.
And in that time, I’d somehow become a legend.
One of my boys has become a king. And the other two have been taken
captive by the Witch of the South.
In order to stop a rebellion and help the shifter brothers, I have to
take on a new item of power and become something I never thought I
would… the Wicked Witch of the West.

I have no idea what’s happening to me.
When a tornado dropped my car in a land of short, wild people, I was
shocked. With no way to get home, no idea where I was and no clue how to
communicate with the muchkins, I was completely out of luck. Then I
found out that my car had landed on someone and killed them. Supposedly
she was the Wicked Witch of the East.
If that wasn’t bad enough, now her ruby slippers magically appear on my
feet, and slowly, I’m becoming her.
Now I need to get to Emerald City and see the Wizard if I want to stop
the transformation and return home. But the yellow brick road is no
cake-walk, and I don’t know what I’ll find at the end of this journey.
Luckily, I have three brothers I meet along the way to help me on my
journey. Each of them is vying for my affection, as if it doesn’t matter
that my skin is turning green.
Wicked Origins is a modern YA Fantasy Retelling of L. Frank Baum’s

If nature could invent intelligence of our scale in a blink of geologic time, who’s to say it hasn’t been done before…A routine dig in Kazakhstan takes a radical turn for thirty-two-year-old anthropologist Claire Knowland when a stranger turns up at the site with a bizarre find from a remote section of the desolate Kazakh Steppe. Her initial skepticism of this mysterious discovery gives way to a realization that the find will shake the very foundations of our understanding of evolution and intelligence.Corrupt politics of Kazakhstan force Claire to take reckless chances with the discovery. Among the allies she gathers in her fight to save herself and bring the discovery to light is Sergei Anachev, a brilliant but enigmatic Russian geologist who becomes her unlikely protector even as he deals with his own unknown crisis.Ultimately, Claire finds herself fighting not just for the discovery and her academic reputation, but for her very life as great power conflict engulfs the unstable region and an unscrupulous oligarch attempts to take advantage of the chaos.Drawing on Eugene Linden’s celebrated non-fiction investigations into what makes humans different from other species, this international thriller mixes fact and the fantastical, the realities of academic politics, and high stakes geopolitics—engaging the reader every step of the way.

The mysterious, powerful Phantom, who lurks beneath the school and demands he be my teacher—demands which soon grow into something deeper, darker. But if I want to survive this place, or have any hope of going home, I may have no choice but to give in to him… and all he desires.
Author’s Note: Taken by the Phantom is the first book in a Magic Academy Romance series that will set your heart–and other parts of you–on fire.
And for once, I cannot help myself.
I am scarcely more than shadow, not nearly as full in form as she or Suzanna. Perhaps she will not notice or name the sensation of touch. Perhaps she will believe it a cast of the magic. Perhaps, perhaps, she will know it is me.
Just her hair. A touch. It is all I need.
I lean close to her, alight my fingertips upon her arms. I am not fully man, but half in shadow, and yet I can feel the rain soaked into the cloth, the heat of her skin just beneath. She inhales sharply when I touch her, lips parting further, eyelids fluttering. Shh, I think. A moment more. One touch.
She grants me my wish, her eyes remaining shut, and leans back ever so slightly, almost imperceptibly, into me. I draw nearer still, savoring the ripple of her hair, stirred by my breath. I am close enough I could press my lips to the vital curve of her neck, close enough I could slide my hands over her breasts, pull her flush against me, test the fit of her curves against mine.
What pleasure is there in that?
She arched herself against me when we met in the Hall of Mirrors. She consumed her own fear like the snake’s tail and came out stronger for it. Yet now her eyes remain closed.
I suddenly want to scream at her to open them. To look at me, to touch me, to want me. And yet she does not. She is little more than silk, supple against me, shaped by my contours. I press myself closer, my body against hers, and brush my fingers along the length of her arms.
Still she remains in the rhapsody of Suzanna’s closed-eye song, and still the darkness swells between the light in heady thrusts.
But Krissy does not sober. She rests her hands in my palms, her thin fingers like porcelain, dainty and fine, mine in black leather, monstrous beside them. With me beside her, she is a sun in eclipse, half-swallowed by darkness.
Her breathing has deepened; it matches mine, step for step. We are in tandem as I press myself to her, the curves of her hips, fuller in contact than in sight. That hunger inside of me stirs once more. Against the swell of her body, I harden and smother the alien urge to gasp.
Then her fingers tighten on mine, and at once there is silence.

WHERE THERE’S FAITH
A past she can’t remember. A love he can’t forget.
After losing everything in an accident that he can only blame himself
for, Robbie Newlin embraced sobriety and tried to live his life quietly
alone at this family’s cottage on the lake. Grief being his only ally,
Robbie was perfectly content with how he lived until Faith moved into
the cottage next door. Now Faith had him questioning whether to keep
grieving or to open his broken heart to let love in again.
Faith McMillan had no memory of her life before that day three years
ago. The physical scars had faded but the emotional ones were still
fresh and raw. Living rent-free seemed like a great way to finish her
second book and give her the time to figure out her next move, but then
she met the reclusive guy next door and everything changed.
To get past the broken parts, Robbie and Faith must figure out if they
want to continue living their lives in solitude or take a chance on
finding an ending together.
